Leading the Glass Industry in Renewable Energy

Being a dominant player in the glass processing industry, FUSO is making unrelenting efforts to reduce its dependency on non-renewable sources of energy. We strive to provide safety while addressing sustainable development and resource efficiency challenges. By transitioning to an environmentally friendly energy source, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint while becoming cost-efficient at the same time.

As a socially responsible company, we aim to create our own renewable energy supply aligned to the UN-SDG goals of 2030 and further contribute to the cause of a climate-friendly planet. We have already taken a step towards achieving this goal. Today, we generate approximately 3 million kWh (units) of green power from our own windmills in Tamil Nadu. This helps the process of decentralized energy options and makes us partly independent of the national grid for our energy needs.

In addition, we are working on a project to harness 3000 kW of solar energy through solar photovoltaic installation. Although the project is constrained by space, it will serve as a blueprint for all of our manufacturing facilities. It will reduce our reliance on the grid much further and increase the proportion of renewable energy in our consumption mix.

Therefore, we are totally committed to responsible and sustainable energy and environment management. Our goals and plans for achieving carbon neutrality are well-defined. As we embark on this environmental journey and strive to fulfill our nation's obligation to the global community, we have a lot of work ahead of us.
